prerequisites. Once the student decides which classes to take, she/he needs to ill the class reg-
istration form and submit the form to one of the registration oice clerks who will verify if the
prerequisites have been fulilled and if there are seats available for that class. After it is conirmed,
the oice clerk registers the student, prints the registration information, and places the registration
form alphabetically in the ile cabinet. When students ask for their transcripts, the clerks will print
transcripts including the information about the classes and the grades. he accumulated GPAs
earned by the students are also included in the transcripts. he business process is demonstrated
by the lowchart in Figure 2.2.
2.2.3 Examine Documents Used in Business Processes
For learning purposes, let us look at a simpliied version of documents used in the registration (see
Tables 2.1 through 2.5). Before the registration process begins, the class schedule will be available
for students to review the classes ofered for the new semester.
For detailed information about a course, the students can either talk to their advisors or check
the course catalog shown in Table 2.2.
If a student has decided which classes to take, he/she will ill out the form shown in Table 2.3
for class registration.
