Schemas : he Schemas component is a container that includes a set of database
objects. A schema can have its own set of permissions. A database user can own several
schemas. In contrast, you can assign several users to the same schema. If a database user
is not assigned a schema, the default schema for the user is dbo (database owner). Figure
1.14 shows the coniguration of a schema.
Symmetric Keys : his component is used to conigure symmetric keys for

ON WINDOWS SERVER 2012
For those who prefer to use Windows Server 2012 to host SQL Server 2012 and Visual
Student 2012, the following provides instruction for installing the Windows Azure SDK on
a virtual machine. Windows Server 2012 can be installed on a PC with a minimum of 1 GB
RAM and a 30 GB hard drive. Or, one can simply create a virtual machine on Windows
Azure. With the 3-month free trial Windows Azure account, you can create a virtual machine
with Windows Server 2012 installed. You are able to log on to the virtual machine anywhere
and anytime through the Internet. By using the virtual machine, you do not have to spend
money for a PC and network hardware.
TASK 1: CREATING VIRTUAL MACHINE ON WINDOWS AZURE
To create a virtual machine on Windows Azure, follow the steps below:
1. Log on to your Windows Azure Management Portal through the following URL:
http://widows.azure.com
2. Once you have logged on to the Windows Azure Management Portal, click V IRTUAL
MACHINES and then NEW as shown in Figure 1.15.
3. After the virtual machines page is opened, click FROM GALLERY as shown in
Figure 1.16.
4. On the Virtual machine operating system selection page, click Windows Server 2012
as shown in Figure 1.17 and then click the Next arrow.
5. On the virtual machine coniguration page, enter your virtual machine name, the
password for administrator, and the size of your virtual machine as shown in Figure
1.18. he small size is adequate for the hands-on activities in this topic. hen, click the
Next arrow.
