Database Reference
In-Depth Information
In this section, a cloud-based report server has been created with the Window Azure
Management Portal. SQL Server Data Tools is used to create a new report that uses SQL
Database as its data source. Once the newly created report is deployed to the report server, it
can be accessed through a web browser by users with the proper permission.
10.4 Summary
his chapter explores Windows Azure and the Windows Azure SDK. he Windows Azure SDK
can provide a cloud development environment on a desktop computer. Without connecting to the
Internet, application developers can develop, test, and debug an application on a local computer
before deploying the application to Windows Azure. After the application is fully tested and is
ready to be deployed to Windows Azure, it only requires a few clicks to accomplish the task.
In this chapter, applications developed locally are deployed to Windows Azure to make them
cloud-based applications. Once deployed to the cloud, these applications can be accessed through
the web browser. To illustrate the deployment process, this chapter demonstrates the process of
deploying web forms and reports to Windows Azure.
