ACTIVITY 10.2 CREATING REPORT WITH
WINDOWS AZURE SQL REPORTING
In this activity, we will create a reporting service by using Reporting Services. he irst task
is to create a report server on Windows Azure.
TASK 1: CREATE REPORTING SERVER ON WINDOWS AZURE
1. Log on to Windows Azure through the URL http://windows.azure.com.
2. After signing in to Windows Azure, open the Avatar bar by clicking the account icon
at the upper-right corner of your screen. hen click
Previous portal
as shown in
Figure 10.28.
3. Once the Previous Windows Azure Management Portal is opened, click the link
Reporting
on the left-hand side of your screen. To create a reporting server, click the
Create
icon in the Server section on the Ribbon.
4. On the Create an SQL Azure Reporting Server dialog, enter
your subscription
and
the preferred
region code
as shown in Figure 10.29.
5. hen, click
Next
to enter the user name and password for the SQL Reporting server.
hen, click
Finish
.
6. On the Management Portal, click the
Subscription
link on the left-hand side of your
screen; you should be able to see the newly created reporting server (Figure 10.30).
7. Click the link to the web service URL of the reporting server to open the reporting
server portal shown in Figure 10.31. Record the connection string for future use.
