Owing to the lexible features of XML, it has been widely used in database systems. In
this section, we have only covered a small portion of XML and its application. Future ver-
sions of Windows Azure SQL Database will support more XML features. Detailed coverage
of XML deserves a topic on its own. For readers who are interested to know more about
XML, they may refer to topics that discuss details of XML.
5.8 Summary
his chapter introduces tools used to move data in and out of Windows Azure SQL Database. You
have learned how to use SSMS to migrate databases to and from Windows Azure SQL Database.
From this chapter, you have gained knowledge about DACs that are used to move databases
between database servers and database applications. hrough the hands-on activities, you are able
to use SQL Azure Migration Wizard to move databases between Windows Azure SQL Database
and an on-premises SQL Server. You have learned how to use Microsoft SSIS for controlling data
transfer details. With the tool bcp, you are able to copy data from a table hosted by Windows
Azure SQL Database to a text ile and vice versa. In this chapter, you have also learned how to
work with XML data on Windows Azure SQL Database.
