Datum Planes
Each time you start a new part file, NX automatically creates default Datum planes along
with the Datum coordinate system. Planes and coordinate system make up a specific type
of features in NX, known as Datum features. These features act as supports to your 3D geo-
metry. In addition to the default Datum features, you can create your own additional planes
and coordinate systems too. Until now, you have known to create sketches on any of the
default datum planes. If you want to create sketches and geometry at locations other than
default datum planes, you can create new datum planes manually. You can do so by using
the
Datum Plane
command.
