Additionally, standards are usually published in specialized
journals (see references) for a greater spreading in the community.
Before being published, each one of the previously described
document types must pass a formal review process also defi ned by
the initiative itself [ 5 ]. Such a review process defi nes different
review phases. The fi rst review phase (Fig. 1a ), is performed by the
steering committee, and the second by reviewers selected by the
PSI editor and, in parallel, by all the scientifi c community since the
document is made public to receive any other comment or critical
review. In the event of informational or community practice docu-
ments, the review simply consists of a public phase (Fig. 1b ).
