In [ 48 - 50 ], the structure illustrated in Fig. 4.14d is proposed. Each line of views
has IBP structure. Additional vertical inter-view predictions introduce views of
types B1 with two horizontal or vertical only references, B2 with one horizontal and
two vertical references, and B3 with two references in both directions. The small
number of views that use both horizontal and vertical references (less than half of
the views are of types B2 or B3) is the main limitation of this scheme, with the
distance between the coding views and reference views.
