Fig. 7.8 Total service time in contrast with the particular device
function (CCDF) for the complete resource migration reliability, with the number
of cloud rack terminals that are participating in the process for different number of
mobile nodes. It depicts that when the number of mobile nodes increases, the CCDF
migration process reliability decreases progressively. This occurs as the mobile
nodes claim more resources from cloud terminals and, in turn cloud terminals
forward these resources to other terminals. This process causes additional delays
to be considered as well as the completion of the number of serviced processes to
decrease progressively as the number of nodes increase.
When considering partitionable tasks, migration is of primary interest to exam-
ine the Throughput response of the system. Throughput response of the system with
the number of “in-service” cloud racks is shown in Fig. 7.7 . Figure 7.7 depicts that
for large files and when the terminals have no remaining memory resources,
throughput dramatically drops. In turn, the comparative execution time with the
different capacities for the tasks/resources needed to be serviced, for mobile devices
and CloneCloud [ 11 ] through Wi-Fi, is depicted in Fig. 7.8 . The proposed migration
scheme is shown to be robust in terms of execution time. This is proved by the
extracted sets of simulation experiments for the different capacities of the requests
of the mobile nodes (see Figs. 7.9 and 7.10 ).
