Software inventory collects information about files on client devices. Operating sys-
tems not based on Windows do not support software inventory.
Custom client settings override any settings that you configure within Default Client
Settings.
The Configuration.mof file is a text file that defines the data classes for the hardware
inventory agent.
File collection allows files to be collected from Configuration Manager clients.
