In step 4, we have stopped the trace by setting the
SQL_TRACE
parameter to
FALSE
.
To identify the trace file to use with
TKPROF
, we can query the database as in step 5. The
SPID
field represents the server process ID used to name the trace file, while the process
field is the
PID
of our process in the operating system (as shown by
PS
).
In the following screenshot, we can see the results of the query and the
PS
command in the
test environment:
We can go to the directory set in the
USER_DUMP_DEST
parameter and launch
TKPROF
to
format the trace file to a human-readable form, as shown in the following screenshot:
