In Fig. 5.26 , it can be observed the dynamic evolution of some of themost important
variables that have influence on thermal comfort: indoor and outdoor air temper-
atures, and the number of people inside the room.
Finally, Fig. 5.27 , shows a comparison between the energy consumption derived
from the HVAC system (the energy consumption of the fan motor is not included)
when both strategies are used: the MPC classical approach, see Sect. 5.3 , that is,
with awater flowvalve aperture equal to 100 %, andwith the hierarchical controller
presented in this section. Besides, the energy saving estimated as the difference
between the energy consumption from the classical MPC approach and from the
hierarchical controller is shown.
