The mostinteresting device weemployedisguidedfactnavigationinresponse to
akeyword entry. Wecall this process “tip generation.” Inthisscenario, wecapture
keywordsenteredbyauser and try to understand whetherthese are names ofpeople,
places, organization, military units, vehicles, etc. When executing akeyword search,
theInFact system can recommend several fact searches whichmaybeofinterestto
auserbased onthe keywordsentered. These recommendations are presentedto the
useras a guidednavigationmenu consistingof links. Intheexample of Figure 5.5,
the useris performing akeyword searchfor“blackhawk.” The user sees a series of
links presentedatthe top ofthe result set. Theyread: “Tip: Viewfacts involving
blackhawk and: Combat , Its Usage/Operation , Locations , Military Organizations ,
Money .” Each ofthese links when clickedinturnexecutes afact search.Forinstance,
clickingon Military Organizations will generate thelist offactsorrelationships
of Figure 5.8, which gives an overview ofall military units that have usedthe
blackhawk helicopter;clickingon Money will generate thelist offactsorrelationships
of Figure 5.9, which gives an overview ofprocurement and maintenance costs, as well
asgovernment spending forthis vehicle. The relationships are returnedinatable
display whereeachrowis an event, and columns identify the three basicsemantic
