A bit of a disco very, this w ell-main-
tained and ex ceedingly comfor table timeshar e/condo complex is
located in the less trampled East E nd, a 32km (20-mile) driv e from
the airport. Guests who stay here will need a car, as the pr operty lies
about a 45-minute ride from George Town. Spacious beachfront units
range from luxury studios to suites. The studio units, favorites among
honeymooners, are the smallest and featur e their own balcony, a full
bathroom, an o versize Jacuzzi, and a kitchenette. The one-bedroom
suites are a good option for a family , and are mainly the same as the
studios except that they ar e larger and featur e two pullout M urphy
beds in the living r oom. These units are suitable for four guests. The
largest, best, and most expensive of the accommodations are the two-
bedroom villas, which ar e a combination of the one-bedr oom suite
and the studio . The spaciousness of these par ticular lodgings makes
them a fav orite with larger families. The many activities her e range
from stargazing to diving instruction.

The Retreat at Rum P oint
This secluded, r emote group of
privately o wned condominiums, located on R um P oint peninsula,
opens onto 390m (1,280 ft.) of white-sand beach. The beach, shaded
by casuarina trees, is a bit narrow and can hardly compare to the wide
sands of Seven Mile Beach, but the place draws tranquillity seekers for
its r elative isolation. The r etreat is a 35-minute driv e fr om G eorge
Town or the airpor t. The condos are owner-occupied for par t of the
year and ar e r ented other wise. Each condo has been individually
decorated by its particular owner, and most feature typical Caribbean
decor, with wicker and rattan. All units contain priv ate balconies.
Each condo has a fully equipped kitchen, as w ell as a washer and
dryer. Small gr oups ranging fr om two to six people can be accom-
modated here in one- to three-bedroom beachfront condos. All units
receive maid service. The Hyatt Rum Point Club—with its beach bar
and barbecue—is right next door . The R ed G inger and the Light-
house at Breakers restaurants are within walking distance. Right next
