Located at the far end of the
northern str etch of S even M ile B each, in West B ay (10km/6 miles
from G eorge Town), this tranquil and r elatively isolated gr oup of
condos is entirely composed of privately owned oceanside suites. The
venue here is local, West Indian, and rural—if you're looking for big-
city ways, forget it and move back south along West Bay Road. When
you tir e of snor keling just offshor e, r etreat to the club 's pool or
Jacuzzi. Accommodations are comfortable, individually furnished and
styled, well maintained, and, in some cases, better than those offer ed
by nearb y competitors. Condos hav e tasteful furnishings and a
screened patio, and each has daily maid ser vice. Each renovated unit
comes with a fully equipped kitchen. Children under 12 stay free, and
cribs and r ollaways ar e av ailable. B etween M arch and D ecember,
management here will agree to subdivide any two-bedroom suite into
studios and one-bedr oom suites b y locking doors within each indi-
vidual unit. But between December and March, the staff is a lot less
flexible: At that time, the only av ailable option is r enting an entir e
two-bedroom suite.

opens onto 122m (400 ft.) of white sand on S even Mile Beach, and
is surrounded by tropical gardens and to wering shade tr ees, making
for an idyllic location. Laco via featur es handsomely furnished and
comfortable two- and thr ee-bedroom condos, complete with kitch-
ens. Although it's not quite home away fr om home, it's almost there.
The accommodations are well maintained by an efficient housekeep-
ing staff, and the decor is a modern Caribbean motif . If you're cook-
ing in, you can walk to a gr ocery store; otherwise opt for one of the
good restaurants nearby. In spite of a lot of traffic on the beach r oad,
life in the courtyard is secluded and tranquil. Of course, you must pay
the piper for all this luxur y.
