Beach Club Colony Hotel & Dive Resort We like to think of
this r esort as a beach club for nondiv ers. D irectly on the sands of
Seven M ile B each, the B each Club Colony has fe wer organiz ed
activities than its dive-focused competitors and none of the extensiv e
brouhaha associated with under water marine hobbies—although
certified divers can still enjo y generous dive packages and fr ee shore
diving. For those interested, the on-site dive shop can schedule night
dives and trips to S tingray City, along with diving courses. All 41
units are efficiently decorated, comfortable but not particularly plush,
although each has a terrace or patio . The on-site restaurant is one of
the friendliest hangouts on S even Mile Beach, and makes for a gr eat
lunchtime r etreat fr om the sun. Rates ar e all-inclusiv e and ev en

include nonmotorized watersports activities.

Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort Kids It may be way
down in the pecking or der fr om the Ritz-Carlton and the Westin
Casuarina, but this fiv e-story r esort on S even M ile B each is still
among the island 's top-ranked hotels. A fav orite with large package-
tour groups and conv entions, it's a 5-minute driv e north of G eorge
Town. I ts ochr e-colored, v aguely H ispanic-designed buildings con-
tain roofed loggias that open onto vie ws of the sea, a v erdantly land-
scaped interior cour tyard, or the side of the hotel. R egrettably, the
complex sits astride a r elatively narrow portion of Seven Mile Beach,
a fact that contributes to a densely populated strip of sand immedi-
ately in front of the hotel, and just a bit too much congestion around
the swimming pool. B ut there's plenty to do at this family-friendly
resort, with lots of emphasis on organized activities. The resort has its
own watersports facilities, including a div e shop, with good snor kel-
ing a mere 15m (49 ft.) offshore. Each of the spacious units has been
remodeled and has modern ar t, dark-grained wood furnitur e, pastel
walls, tropical-patterned fabrics, large closets, and a priv ate balcony.
