Remembrance Day. This is the Cayman I slands' national day of
mourning and r emembrance for the militar y her oes lost during
World Wars I and II, and for all sailors and mariners lost at sea
during the long maritime histor y of the Cayman I slands. During
this national holiday, all schools, banks, and businesses ar e closed.
In a public ceremony, wreaths are laid on two war monuments near
the corner of Fort and North Church streets in downtown George
Town, on Grand Cayman. Solemn music is broadcast on the radio
and chur ches hold special cer emonies and masses. The second
Monday in November.

3 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All visitors, including those from the U.S. and the British Common-
wealth countries, must have a valid return or ongoing plane ticket. All
persons 12 years of age or older are charged a departure tax of CI$20.
Tax is included in the air fare.

PASSPORTS
All U.S. citizens traveling to the Cayman I slands must carr y a valid
passport. Canadian and U.K. citiz ens ar e not r equired to carr y a
passport but need to provide proof of citizenship, such as an original
birth certificate with a raised seal or a notariz ed copy of a bir th cer-
tificate, and a valid government-issued photo ID. Citizens of all other
nations need a passpor t for entr y into the Cayman I slands. Travelers
who carr y passpor ts must ensur e their passpor t is v alid for up to 6
months after the scheduled date of r eturn to the home countr y.
Remember, if you are not a U.S. citizen and you are stopping in or
traveling through the U.S., or a U.S. territory (including Puerto Rico
and the U.S. Virgin Islands) before arriving in the Cayman I slands,
you will need a passport and possibly a U.S. visa. For the most up-to-
