Little C ayman M ardi G ras F estival. E verybody on this small
island turns out for this festiv e event. Parade participants show up
from Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac. The parade begins in the

M ARCH
The Cayman Islands Orchid Show. This annual orchid show takes
place at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park from 9am to 5pm. Stop
by the park to view the exquisite displays of or chids in bloom. The
Orchid Society also hosts a special or chid talk and demonstration.

A PRIL
Cayfest (The N ational F estival of the Ar ts). This 2-w eek ev ent
celebrates and showcases the art and culture of the Cayman Islands.
The expo opens at Seven Mile Beach with a reenactment of a tradi-
tional boat launch. In George Town, you'll find open-air events with
local bands, ar ts and crafts, nativ e cooking, and other demonstra-
tions of local talent, such as culinar y and song competitions. F or

Cayman Islands Million Dollar Run. Launched in 2003 and tak-
ing place on Grand Cayman, this is a show of power and speed on
the water, attracting po werboat aficionados and fun seekers fr om

gather for this race, with captains competing for US$10,000 in

Easter R egatta. The Cayman I slands S ailing Club sponsors this
annual event off G rand Cayman. The race attracts many boaters,
who show up in catamarans ranging fr om 6 to 24m (20-79 ft.).
