La Esperanza Finds This modern complex consists of a series
of apartment and cottage r entals on the nor th side, with easy access
to a private beach on the south side. The complex lies midway along
the nor th shor e. Launched in 1986 when it was a small gathering
place for four friends and the only spot in the area for people to come
and relax in the “cool, cool, cool of the ev ening,” as the popular '50s
song went, the complex gr ew, but ev en today is still r elatively small
and casual. It's better known for its r estaurant and bar (p . 164) than
for its accommodations.
Each w ell-furnished and comfor table apar tment, decorated in a
typical light, breezy West Indian style, consists of two bedrooms with
1 1 / 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a living/dining room. The cottage
has thr ee bedr ooms and two bathr ooms with sho wers, plus a full
