high emphasis on spor ts and two-for-ones (margaritas, beers, r um

Coconut Joe's Beach Bar & Grill Something's always going on
at this little hot spot. Located acr oss from the Comfor t Suites, this
used to be a run-down and modest private house on the “wrong” side
of the road. The young and hip staff comes fr om all over the world,
including I taly, A ustralia, the U.S., and v arious par ts of Canada.
Some crazy ev ent is always being planned. P ast soirees include boat
cruises, bikini par ties, and the annual S t. P atrick's D ay par ty. The
bartender will mix you up almost any drink you can think of and the
cocktails are reasonably priced. Try a “beergarita,” a Corona and mar-
garita hybrid. Main courses range fr om CI$8 to CI$28, and include
juicy burgers and chicken, beef , and shrimp rice bo wls. Coconut
Joe's is open Monday to Saturday, the grill from 6:30am to 1am, and
the beach bar from 10am to 1am. 362 West Bay Rd., Seven Mile Beach.

Kaibo Beach Bar & Grill This fun, r elaxed, hip, counterculture
spot—collectively called “ the Kaibo Yacht Club” (p . 88)—contains
both a bar and a special dining ar ea. Far from the maddening cr owd
of tourists and touristy infrastr ucture closer to G eorge Town, it 's
perched on the island's distant corner, and the raffish beach-lev el bar
is a major stop on the Grand Cayman nightlife circuit. Clients are fun
and free-spirited. In many cases, customers are East Coast Americans
and Canadian-born refugees from the frigid snow, who mingle grace-
fully with local Caymanians and boat o wners. In the downstairs bar,
you can enjoy a menu of sandwiches, burgers, and salads. D rinks of
choice, served in copious quantities throughout the day and evening,
include M udslides, B loody Caesars, and S ex on the B each, priced
between CI$5.50 and CI$10 each. The entire place is fun, romantic,
and appealingly permissiv e. The bar and grill ar e open daily fr om
11am to 11pm. In the Kaibo Yacht Club, 858 Water Bay Rd., North Side.
