Although many guests “kiss” the stingrays, we recommend you do
so at your own risk. In addition to fr olicking with the rays, the boat
also stops off at Coral G ardens, where you can snorkel and take in a
preview of underwater life. Including the pickup, the whole trip costs
US$39 for adults or US$27.50 for kids ages 4 to 11. F rom start to
finish, the tour takes more than 3 hours. You can also book a full-day
tour, including a beach lunch and a conch div e.
Don Foster's Dive, 218 S. Church St., George Town ( & 800/833-

waterfront at Casuarina P oint in G eorge Town. At its headquar ters,
there's also a pool with a sho wer. Boat div es are featured as w ell as
offshore snor keling. A two-tank div e costs US$95 with night div es
going for US$55.
Seven M ile Watersports, West B ay R oad ( & 345/949-0332;
www.7milediver.com), operates fr om the S even M ile B each R esort
and Club and is par ticularly sensitiv e to the r equests of individual
divers. The outfitter takes out only 15 divers at a time in its 12m (39-
ft.) boat. Most jaunts are to the north wall. A one-tank boat dive costs
US$65, and a two-tank div e goes for US$100. A snor

Off the Wall Divers, West Bay Road ( & 345/945-7525; www.
otwdivers.com), also caters to the individual div er as it specializ es in
custom dive trips for gr oups of 2 to 10, but no mor e. The outfitter
offers resort training courses, as w ell as full and Nitrox certifications.
A one-tank dive goes for US$70, two tanks for US$99. A PADI open-
water certification course costs only US$600 per person in a group of
three or mor e. R esort scuba courses cost US$120, and equipment
rentals, including dive computers, are available for rent.
Another good div e outfit, Tortuga D ivers ( & 345/947-2097;
www.tortugadivers.com), operates out of M orritt's Tortuga Club and
Resort at East End, site of what are described as the best windsurfing
conditions in the Cayman Islands, with easy access to the rich marine
life. This outfitter caters to both experienced and novice divers, offer-
ing dives, whenever business justifies it, at 9am and 2pm. Half-day or
full-day snorkeling adventures can also be arranged at the same time,
and all types of gear ar e av ailable for r ent. The morning two-tank
scuba dive costs US$110, and the afternoon one-tank div e goes for
US$75. A half-day's snorkeling costs US$50, going up to US$75 for
a full day, the price including lunch.
Although nearly ev ery scuba outfitter also offers snor keling tours,
the best outfitter just for snor keling is Captain M arvin's Water-
sports, Cayman Falls Shopping Center, Seven Mile Beach ( & 345/
945-6975; www.captainmarvins.com). Captain Marvin, who launched
his tours with a borr owed sailboat in the 1950s, is no w one of the
