Neptune's ITALIAN Set in a simple concrete building near the
northern end of West Bay Road, this is one of a few genuinely appeal-
ing and r elatively affor dable I talian r estaurants on G rand Cayman.
There's no view of the sea, but you'll get the feeling that you're at the
seashore, thanks to a decor featuring pristine ceramic tiles, a blue-
and-white color scheme, and a mural of cav orting mermaids. Tables
on the large outdoor terrace ar e centered on a human-siz e statue of
Neptune, Greek god of the sea and the r estaurant's namesake. Menu
items include a wide array of the usual pastas, plus some nonstandard
choices such as “S paghetti alla Courtney,” made with eggplant, fr esh
tomatoes, garlic, and mozzarella cheese; and “Spaghetti Bella Pesaro,”
made with grilled zucchini and fr esh clams. The seafood options ar e
especially tempting, including shrimp with garlic butter , balsamic
vinegar, and fresh herbs; mixed seafood curry; and grilled red snapper
served with lobster, shrimp, and tomato-flavored cream sauce.
