This class includes mainly those soils that have been previously identiÝed as Podz–lico Ver-
melho-Amarelo; Podz–lico Vermelho-Escuro; Podz–lico Amarelo, all with low-activity clay; small
part of Terra Roxa Estruturada and Terra Roxa Estruturada Similar, Terra Bruna Estruturada; and
Terra Bruna Estruturada Similar, all of them with textural B horizon.
The geographical distribution of this soil class secluded from the 1:5,000,000 scale of the
Brazilian soil map is shown in Figure 11.13. It comprises 1,711,040 km
2
corresponding to 19.8%
of the country.
