the bridge to the RSC Theatre and the center of Stratford. The Garden Room fea-
tures a king-size four poster, there's a modern leather king-size bed in the Terrace
Room (both have large conservatories and access to the garden), and the gorgeous
Tiffany Suite offers a king-size bed and separate sitting room. Whichever room you
choose, you'll be welcomed with tea and scones on arrival, get a huge cooked break-
fast, and have access to a well-stocked fridge and selection of teas.

Legacy Falcon Hotel The Falcon blends the very old and the very new, with
parts of the hotel dating back to the 16th century; connected to its rear by a glass
passageway is a more sterile extension added in 1970. The rooms in the older section
have oak beams, diamond leaded-glass windows, antiques, and good reproductions.
In the inn's intimate Merlin Lounge, you'll find an open copper-hooded fireplace
where fires are stoked under beams salvaged from old ships.

The Stratford This is definitely not one of the historic inns of Stratford-upon-
Avon, but a plush, modern hotel with up-to-date conveniences. A member of the
QHotels group, its location is only a short walk from the banks of the River Avon. The
bedrooms are spaciously and elegantly appointed, some with four-poster beds and
Tudor-style, but others are more geared to commercial travelers seeking streamlined
conveniences—not romance. Deftly prepared market-fresh dishes change with the
seasons in the on-site Quills Restaurant.
