Lamb Inn A meal in this pretty wisteria-clad restaurant and hotel is the perfect
way to cap off a visit to Burford. Good set pub lunches dominate the restaurant at
midday; set dinners are more formal, candlelit affairs. Expect dishes such as filet of
Cotswold beef with horseradish mash, grilled trout with almond and vanilla sauce and
roasted hake with saffron (two-course lunch £20, three-course lunch £25; two-course
dinner £30; three-course dinner £35). The pub has a mellow atmosphere with cheaper
meals and a carefully chosen selection of ales on tap. Built in 1420 as weavers' cottages
and littered with fine antique furnishings, the Lamb is also an enticing place to spend
the night, with bedrooms blending modern comforts and original fittings.
