Canterbury Roman Museum MUSEUM This museum provides a subterranean
experience—it's built around archeological excavations of a house site containing
mosaics unearthed by a wartime bomb. Interactive exhibits and Roman artifacts that
can be handled bring the past to life for all ages. The Roman town of Durovernum
Cantiacorum (Canterbury) was established after Emperor Claudius's invasion in a.d.
43, and it flourished for nearly 400 years. Other exhibits include the reconstruction
of a Roman market.
