In-Depth Information
4.3.9.3 Applications of 1-Nitrobutane
The explosion of 1-nitrobutane is very weak and it can not be used alone as the
liquid explosive. But it be the energetic component in a liquid explosive mixture,
the liquid propellant fuel, and also a gasoline additive. In the chemical industry, it is
mainly used as intermediate and solvent of organic synthesis.
4.3.9.4 Toxicity of 1-Nitrobutane
Except that nitroalkanes stimulate the mucosa, they also damage the central nervous
system. Animal experiments indicate that it maybe damage the liver too.
4.3.9.5 Storage and Transportation Conditions of 1-Nitrobutane
1-Nitrobutane should be stored in a cool and ventilated warehouse, which is far
away from
fire, heat. The container should be sealed. It should be stored separately
from oxidants, reducing agents, acids and food chemicals, and must avoid the
mixing storage.
