ties such as size, shape, and dimensionality. On the contrary, nanoparticle
characteristics of nanomaterials synthesized using the surfactant assembly as
a directing agent were barely predictable, although they showed high repro-
ducibility. This is due to the fact that the fi nal structural properties, including
pore size, are developed during the fi nal condensation process.
To conclude, the design of LC structures for nanomaterial production has
and will further contribute to the nanotechnology revolution of many high-
tech applications in the fi elds of nanoscale electronics, electrooptics, sensors,
and display devices.
