the number of full-nest stages. Whether the simplification is considered
problematic for marketers is yet to be examined.
In the present research, despite expanding the traditional FLC to incor-
porate more stages - 13 stages - 9.2% of respondents still ended up in an
'other ' category, which opened up several additional further stages. Thus,
it can be said that the 13 stages used as a framework for this research was
insufficient. A possible range of stages that can be considered more inclusive
is set out in Table 11.5.
Historically, more accurate (and complicated) depictions of the range
of stages today's individual may go through have not been popular. More
