Tips for using external Data Objects
As the contents of external Data Objects are not persistent in
the BAM repository, you can only view the contents, but can-
not perform
insert, update, upsert
, or
delete
oper-
ations on the Data Object in BAM Architect web application.
In addition, since external Data Objects contents are not dir-
ectly managed by BAM Active Data Cache, no Active Data
will be generated and pushed to the client in the event of data
changes in external Data Objects.
Therefore, it is a best practice to avoid using external Data
Objects in a real-time report scenario, unless it is used as a
Lookup
Data Object.
