Description
VIP2 bamvhn.mycompany.com

virtual hostname used as the
listen address for the Managed
Server that hosts BAM Server
components. This hostname
should resolve to
VIP2
, which is
the VIP or floating IP address.

bamhost1.mycompany.com
is
the physical hostname of the first
node in the cluster. This hostname
should resolve to
IP1
, which is
the physical IP address.

Enabling IPs and VIPs
In a single-node environment, the physical IP of the machine that hosts the BAM
Server is used as the listen address. However, in an HA environment, VIPs are
required to achieve the IP level virtualization, which is the key in the server mi-
gration process.
