ware components and their patches. It also provides an effective way for distrib-
uting BAM domain configurations among different environments.
The prerequisites for cloning Oracle BAM are as follows:
•
Installing the Oracle BAM schema using RCU.
•
Stopping the administration server and all managed servers running in the
domain on the source host.
•
On Unix/Linux, verifying if the
oraInst.loc
file exists in the
/etc
direct-
ory. If it is located in another directory, use the
-invPtrLoc
option with the
pasteBinary
script to specify the location. If the target host does not con-
tain the file
oraInst.loc
, you must create the file that includes the
in-
ventory_loc
and
inst_group
properties. For example, a sample of the
oraInst.loc
file looks as follows:
inventory_loc=/u01/app/oraInventory
inst_group=oinstall
To clone Oracle BAM, the following steps are performed:
1.
Cloning a Middleware home.
2.
Cloning the WebLogic Server domain for BAM.
Cloning a Middleware home
You can clone a Middleware home using the
copyBinary

Creating an archive of a Middleware home
Oracle Fusion Middleware provides the
copyBinary

create an archive of a Middleware home, which contains the WebLogic Server
home, and one or more Oracle homes, such as SOA, BAM, HTTP server, and
so on.
