Extending
your
report
to
include
multiple Views
In the previous section, you learned how to create a BookstoreDemo report that
contains a single View. In this section, you will learn how to extend your report to
include multiple Views. The following View types will be used to extend the report:
Driving from a master View to a detail View
Adding a Gauge View
Adding a Chart View
Driving from a master view to a detail view
Sometimes, you will need to create a master View and a detail View, so that you
can drive the content from the master View to the detail View. To make the driving
work, you need to extend your report as follows:
Create a detail View to display the order items.
Enable driving in the master View. In this example, the Updating Ordered
List you just created will serve as the master View. Clicking on a particular
record in the master View will drive the detail View to reflect the changes.
Creating a detail View
You need to create a detail View using the Updating Ordered List View type.
Here are the key steps to create this View:
1.
In BAM Active Studio , click on the Shared Report tab, then click on the re-
port that you created before.
2.
Click on Edit in the Actions pane. The report becomes editable.
3.
Select and resize the single View, then click on the Insert View icon in the
toolbar. A View template appears, as shown in the following screenshot:
