It is recommended to create a calculated field in the Data Ob-
ject, provided you want to share the calculated field in vari-
ous views or reports. If calculated fields are specific to a re-
port, create them in the report scope. From a performance
perspective, it makes no difference by switching from Data
Object scope to report scope for calculated fields. However,
the calculated field expression builder has syntax verification
in the Active Studio and not in Architect. Use copy-paste into
the Active Studio calculation expression builder to verify the
syntax, if required.
Editing View properties
Another task for designing a report View is to define its properties (such as the
report tile, text font, format, and alignment), Active Data rendering behavior, and
so on.
