In-Depth Information
The ultrachic Rose Bar at this elegant Ian Schrager original is a watering hole for beautiful
creatures (or at least those with a healthy ego). Get ready to pay up for the privilege - but
also prepare to enjoy it. The tiki bar in the back of the Delano is another winner; wait for
staff to set out a wrought-iron table in the shallow end of the pool and you'll start rethink-
ing your definition of opulence.
B Bar
BAR
This smallish basement bar, tucked under the Betsy Hotel, has two salient features. One is
a crowd of the beautiful, in-the-know SoBe-tastic types you expect at South Beach night-
spots. The other is an odd, low-hanging reflective ceiling, built out of a sort of wobbly ma-
terial that sinks in like soft Jell-O and ripples like a stone in a pond when you touch it. It's
a pretty cool thing to witness, especially when all sorts of drunk, beautiful people try to
(literally) raise the roof.
Lost Weekend
BAR
The Weekend is a grimy, sweaty, slovenly dive, filled with pool tables, cheap domestics
and - hell yeah - Golden Tee arcade games and Big Buck Hunter. God bless it. Popular
with local waiters, kitchen staff and bartenders.
Pool Bar at the Sagamore
BAR
Head out to the back pool and sip a beer (or a nice cocktail) in the shadow of the artsy
funk and hip geometric lines of the
Sagamore hotel
.
Mac's Club Deuce Bar
BAR
The oldest bar in Miami Beach (established in 1926), the Deuce is a real neighborhood bar
and hype-free zone. It's just straight-up seediness, which, depending on your outlook, can
be quite refreshing. Plan to see everyone from transgendered ladies to construction work-
ers - some hooking up, some talking rough, all having a good time.
