many trees, is where we prefer to be. The truffle mac 'n' cheese is rich and immensely sat-

Green Street Cafe AMERICAN
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; % 305-567-0662; 3468 Main Hwy; mains $10-23; h 7:30am-1am)
Sidewalk spots don't get more popular (and many say more delicious) than Green Street,
where the Grove's young and gorgeous congregate at sunset. There's an excellent mix of
lamb burgers with goat's cheese, salmon salads, occasional art shows and general indie de-
fiance of Grove gentrification, which makes for an idiosyncratic dining experience.
Jaguar LATIN AMERICAN
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; % 305-444-0216; www.jaguarspot.com ; 3067 Grand Ave; mains $17-32;
h 11:30am-11pm Mon-Thu, to 11:30pm Fri & Sat, 11am-11pm Sun)
The menu spans the Latin world, but really, everyone's here for the ceviche 'spoon bar.'
The idea: pick from six styles of ceviche (raw, marinated seafood), ranging from swordfish
with cilantro to corvina in lime juice, and pull a culinary version of DIY. It's novel and
fun, and the $2 ceviche varieties are pretty damn delicious. Other mains include different
kinds of grilled meats and fish - endearing in their simplicity, but lacking the tasty com-
plexity of the ceviche.
George's in the Grove FRENCH
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; % 305-444-7878; 3145 Commodore Plaza; mains $13-29; h 10am-11pm
Mon-Fri, 8am-11pm Sat & Sun)
George's has a manically over-the-top menu that throws in everything from French to Itali-
an to Latin plus the kitchen sink. This all comes packaged with manic, over-the-top decor
that looks like a cozy attic just exploded all over Coconut Grove. Mains are rich in the best
rural French culinary tradition; standbys include steak frites, duck confit and grilled bran-
zino.
