Española Way Promenade
PROMENADE
Española Way is an 'authentic' Spanish promenade…in the Florida theme-park spirit of
authenticity. Oh, whatever; it's a lovely, terra-cotta and cobbled arcade of rose pink and
Spanish cream architecture, perfect for browsing art (it was an arts colony in the 1920s and
today houses the studios of several local artists), window-shopping, people-watching and
coffee-sipping. A craft market operates here on weekend afternoons.
Jewish Museum of Florida

Housed in a 1936 Orthodox synagogue that served Miami's first congregation, this small
museum chronicles the rather large contribution Jews have made to the state of Florida.
After all, it could be said that while Cubans made Miami, Jews made Miami Beach, both
physically and culturally. Yet there were times when Jews were barred from the American
Riviera they carved out of the sand, and this museum tells that story, along with some
amusing anecdotes (like seashell Purim dresses).
