Soaring timber beams rise above the cathedral-like lobby of this six-story homage to the
Arts and Crafts architectural movement. Cushy rooms have triple-sheeted beds, down pil-
lows, bathrobes and all-custom furnishings. Outside there's a faux-redwood waterslide into
the pool. At night, kids wind down with bedtime stories by the lobby's giant stone hearth.
For a little adult pampering, your coconut rub and milk ritual wrap awaits at the Mandara
Spa.

Sunbursts, surfboards and a giant superslide are all on deck at the Paradise Pier Hotel, the
smallest (472 rooms), cheapest and maybe the most fun of the Disney hotel trio. Kids will
love the beachy decor and game arcade, not to mention the roof-deck pool and the tiny-tot
video room filled with mini Adirondack chairs.

Built in 1955, the park's original hotel has expanded to three towers with themed lobbies
(adventure, fantasy and frontier), and good-sized rooms boasting Mickey-hand wall
sconces and headboards lit like the fireworks over Sleeping Beauty Castle. This 972-room
hotel also has the best swimming pool of the three Disney hotels, plus cartoon charac-
ter-themed Signature Suites.
