Trip-planning information, books and maps are available on the mainland at the far end of
Ventura Harbor.
Getting There & Away
You can access the national park by taking a boat from Ventura or Oxnard or a plane from
Camarillo. Trips may be canceled anytime due to high surf or weather conditions. Reser-
vations are essential for weekends, holidays and summer trips.
Island Packers FERRY
( GOOGLE MAP ; 805-642-1393; www.islandpackers.com ; 1691 Spinnaker Dr, Ventura; round-trip
fare adult/child 3-12yr from $59/41)
From Ventura Harbor and Oxnard, Island Packers offers regularly scheduled boat service
to all islands. Day trips to Anacapa and Santa Rosa are less expensive than visiting other
islands; campers pay an additional surcharge. Be forewarened: if you camp overnight and
seas are rough the following day, you could get stuck for an extra night or more.
Channel Islands Aviation SCENIC FLIGHTS
( GOOGLE MAP ; 805-987-1301; www.flightstothechannelislands.com ; 305 Durley Ave, Camarillo)
If you're prone to seasickness, you can take a 25-minute scenic flight to Santa Rosa Island
from Camarillo. Half-day packages (per person $160 to $220) include hiking or a guided
4WD tour, while overnight camping excursions (per person $300) are more DIY. Ask
about surf-fishing charter trips.
