Activities
For more hiking with ocean views, head to MontaƱa de Oro State Park , not far away.
Bishop Peak HIKING
SLO's most popular hike summits Bishop Peak (1546ft), the tallest of the Nine Sisters, a
chain of volcanic peaks that stretches north to Morro Bay. The 2.2-mile one-way trail
starts in a grove of live oaks (watch out for poison oak) and heads uphill along rocky,
mostly exposed switchbacks. Carefully scramble up boulders at the tippy-top for panor-
amic views.
To get to the trailhead, drive northwest from downtown on Santa Rosa St (Hwy 1), turn
left onto Foothill Dr, then right onto Patricia Dr; after 0.8 miles, look for three black posts
and a trailhead sign on your left.
