well as SUP set and canoes rentals. When paddling out on your own, be aware of the tide
schedules: ideally, you'll want to ride the tide out and then back in. Winds are generally
calmest in the mornings.

No one gets you out on the water faster than this laid-back kayak, canoe and SUP rental
spot by the marina in Morro Bay State Park. A no-frills DIY operation, this is a calmer
place to start paddling than the Embarcadero.

A 7-mile drive inland from Morro Bay on Hwy 41, a USFS campground is the start of a
challengingly steep 4-mile round-trip trail up Cerro Alto (2624ft). From the summit, 360°
views sweep from mountains to the sea. With more gradual switchbacks, an alternative
route (5.5 miles round trip) also begins near campsite No 18. Leashed dogs allowed.
Morro Bay Golf Course

South of the Embarcadero, adjacent to the state park, this 18-hole golf course boasts tree-
lined fairways and ocean views. A driving range and rental clubs and carts are available.
