Just north of the park is
Pacific Star Winery

dramatic, rub-your-eyes-in-disbelief-beautiful location on a bluff over the sea. The wines
don't get pros excited but they are very drinkable, the owners are supremely friendly and
you're encouraged to picnic at one of the many coast-side tables, stroll some of the short
coastal trails along the cliffs and generally enjoy yourself (which isn't hard).

numbers 21 to 59. Ten superb, secluded walk-in tent sites (numbers 1 to 10) are first-come,
first-served.
Westport
If sleepy Westport feels like the peaceful edge of nowhere, that's because it is. The last
hamlet before the Lost Coast, on a twisting 15-mile drive north of Fort Bragg, it is the last
town before Hwy 1 veers inland on the 22-mile ascent to meet Hwy 101 in Leggett.
Head 1.5 miles north of town for the ruggedly beautiful
Westport-Union Landing
State Beach

, which extends for 3 miles on coastal bluffs.
A rough
hiking trail
leaves the primitive campground and passes by tidepools and
streams, accessible at low tide. Bring your own water.
