Exuding a 1970s flavor, this small and sparkling cafe has a creative political vibe, with
polka-dot tiles on the counter handmade by one of the artist-owners, and order numbers
spotlighting guerillas and liberation revolutionaries. Organic and Fair Trade ingredients
feature in the breakfasts and panini sandwiches, and locally roasted Blue Bottle coffee is
served.
Entertainment
The arts corridor on Addison St between Milvia and Shattuck Sts anchors a lively down-
town entertainment scene.
Live Music
Berkeley has plenty of intimate live-music venues. Cover charges range from $5 to $20,
and a number of venues are all-ages or 18-and-over.

A few blocks east of the Ashby BART station, this cultural center and Chilean cafe
presents dynamic musical and visual arts programming with a peace and justice bent. Look
