Woods, or the southeastern extension of the
Coastal Trail
, which has breathtaking views
of the coast before joining Hwy 1 about 2 miles north of Muir Beach. Either option re-
quires a return to Mill Valley via Frank Valley/Muir Woods Rd, which climbs steadily
(800ft) to Panoramic Hwy and then becomes Sequoia Valley Rd as it drops toward Mill
Valley. A left turn on Wildomar and two right turns at Mill Creek Park lead to the center of
Mill Valley.

Just off Hwy 1, about 1 mile south of Stinson Beach, this jewel has seven beachfront
campsites and nine rustic five-person cabins with wood stoves overlooking the ocean.
Both options are booked out months in advance and reservations can be made up to seven
months ahead.

Recently reopened after decades of closure, its 15 first-come, first-served walk-in sites are
right on two of the park's best hiking trails and adjacent to Redwood Creek, with open vis-
tas to the south. It's a half-mile northeast of Pantoll Station.
Pantoll Campground

From the parking lot it's a 100yd walk or bicycle ride to the campground, with 16 first-
come, first-served tent sites but no showers.
