Getting There & Away
By car, take the Alexander Ave exit just after the Golden Gate Bridge and dip left under
the freeway. Conzelman Rd, to the right, takes you up along the bluffs; you can also take
Bunker Rd, which leads to the headlands through a one-way tunnel. It's also a snap to
reach these roads from the bridge via bicycle.
On weekdays, Golden Gate Transit ( 415-455-2000, 511; www.goldengatetransit.org )
buses 2, 4 and 92 service Sausalito ($4.75) and the eastern Headlands. On Saturday,
Sunday and holidays, MUNI ( 511, 415-701-2311; www.sfmta.com ) bus 76X runs hourly from
San Francisco's Financial District to the Marin Headlands Visitors Center and Rodeo
Beach. Both lines are equipped with bicycle racks.
