Brand new for 2014, this modern, six-story, ocean-view hotel is awash in summery yel-
lows and sea blues in the lobby. Rooms have crisp lines and distressed-wood headboards,
and ocean- and pier-view rooms have balconies or patios. Best views are from the pool
and hot tub on the top floor, where there's also a fitness center.

Fuel up before surfing on omelets, scrambles and pancakes, or afterwards on sandwiches,
tacos and salads at this surfers' diner on the east side of the road. A second location by the
harbor (280 Harbor Dr) serves the same menu in a stellar setting.

This tiny 1928 streamline moderne diner serves the classics: omelets, burgers etc. If you're
lucky, you'll catch the owner and can quiz him about local history.

This new beachfront spot opened in 2014 and locals already love its Baja stone crab and
cheese dip, fried and grilled tacos (from $4.50) and salmon burger with Asian slaw and
wasabi aioli. Grilled fish platters and other large plates run up to $24. Not to mention
O'side's best views from the bar and deck.

This new shrine to the Mississippi Delta serves belly-busting portions of fried chicken and

Bloody Mary, topped with a rib.
