Further information on seismic risk assessment of water supply systems can
be obtained from a long list of academic journals, conference proceedings,
earthquake engineering research centers/groups, and professional bodies
around the world. The list includes, but is not limited to, Earthquake Engi-
neering Research Institute (EERI) in USA and its professional journal,
Earthquake Spectra, and many other publications (e.g., proceedings of
annual meeting, monographs, reconnaissance reports of major earthquakes),
Technical Council on Lifeline Earthquake Engineering (TCLEE) of the
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and its monographs and
conference proceedings, the Multidisciplinary Center for Earthquake Engi-
neering Research (MCEER http://mceer.buffalo.edu/) headquartered at
the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, and its mono-
graphs and technical reports, and the proceedings of world conference
series on earthquake engineering. In addition, many earthquake engineer-
ing research centers/groups around the world conduct research relevant to
the seismic risk assessment of water supply systems, e.g., the Pacifi c Earth-
quake Engineering Research (PEER) Center (http://peer.berkeley.edu/)
headquarters at the University of California, Berkeley, the Mid-America
Earthquake (MAE) Center (http://mae.cee.illinois.edu/) headquartered at
the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the research groups at
Kobe University (e.g., Kuwata et al. 2008) and Kyoto University (e.g.,
Javanbarg et al. 2008) in Japan and Tongji University (e.g., Li and He 2002,
Li et al. 2007, Liu and Li 2009) in China.
