initial water content and boundary conditions.
9.3.5. Vapor water transfers: coupling
The theory presented in section 9.3 is directly applicable whenever a liquid
supply source plays a major role in water transfer for a stone's pathological
situation. For other cases (no liquid water supply, low stone water contents, high
temperature gradients) transfer of water under its vapor phase may also be
considered and, correspondingly, the heat transfer that substantially influences it.
We will not explain the corresponding mathematical formulations here that are
similar to those presented so far because the phenomena are also of a diffusive
nature. We suggest the reader interested in these issues refers to the literature [CRA
96, DAI 96, LAU 96a, LAU 01] for an exhaustive presentation of these coupled
phenomena.
