Cafes, restaurants, up-and-coming boutiques
What you won't find:
Attractions, street life
South of the Mission, and therefore out of range for most tourists, Bernal Heights
is another mostly residential area where decent cafes and restaurants are springing
up. Its neighbor Noe Valley is slightly more gentrified. Both areas are safe and
pleasant to visit—24th Street around Castro Street is particularly rich with bou-
tiques and eateries—although there isn't much of concerted touristic value in
either one.
