activity was significantly reduced during experimental trials substantial numbers of
bats continued to forage within the beam. It is possible that only a particular combina-
tion of wavelength, pulse repetition rate, power output and target size or orientation
may provoke a reaction and further work is necessary to elucidate this relationship
further.
